Alaskan real estate professionals will find in this course educational content that will allow them to renew their license for the 2025 and 2026 time period. The content is split into the following four sections:
- The first section of the course will focus on environmental issues, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and legal descriptions.
- The segment on environmental issues discusses regulation of special land types and approaches to handling pollution and hazardous waste.
- The segment on the Americans with Disabilities Act examines the history of the act along with a brief description of its structure.
- The segment on legal descriptions examines different means of describing real property including use of metes and bounds, the rectangular survey system, and plat maps.
- The second section discusses fair housing and property management.
- The segment on fair housing explores the history of housing practices and fair housing legislation, the structure of the fair housing act, and the provisions of other fair housing executive orders.
- The segment on property management addresses the duties of property managers including financial recordkeeping and fiduciary duties
- The third section talks about licensee disclosures.
- The segment on licensee relationships looks at the duties of licensees and required disclosures.
- The segment on prohibited conduct examines actions that are forbidden by state law and the penalties associated carrying out prohibited conduct.
- The fourth section covers the counseling of consumers.
- The segment on marketing property explores methods for advertising and marketing property through the internet and social media.
- The segment on inspections and disclosures discusses both inspections of real property and the appropriate use of disclosures.
After each primary section, students will complete an incremental quiz designed to assist with the retention and comprehension of the course material.
