Indiana 4 Hour Course for Managing Brokers (2021 Update)
- 4 Hour Course
- $29.00
This 4-hour course provides the required training in necessary business and management skills, and legal knowledge for Managing Brokers in Indiana. The course begins by reviewing legal terms that are important to know in the business of real estate. We’ll also take a look at the legal definition of a managing broker in Indiana. Then, we’ll review the newest changes to real estate law to ensure that you’re up to date.
From there, we’ll talk about the fine line that exists between practicing real estate and venturing into the illegal practice of law. This is an important distinction to understand, because real estate professionals work with legal contracts regularly. We’ll also touch on the forms of discipline that IREC imposes on licensees who are in violation of license law.
Then, we’ll move into the issues that accompany managing a brokerage. We’ll discuss the importance of developing an employee manual, and what types of policies it should cover.
After that, we’ll move on to the timely topic of electronic documents and the issues of cybersecurity. We’ll begin by reviewing the validity of electronic documents, and the legislation that established the practices for use.
We’ll discuss how The National Labor Relations Act of 1935 relates to the use of social media today, and what protections employees have under it. We’ll spend some time talking about the best practices to maintain cybersecurity, as well as general risk management practices, for issues especially relevant to brokers.
Another important point that we’ll cover is physical safety. Both real estate licensees and consumers can encounter dangerous situations in the course of real estate activities. We’ll talk about the most common dangers, as well as how to prepare for them.
Our final section will focus on listing services, the proper handling of trust funds and accounts, and the NAR Code of Ethics, which sets the standard for ethical behavior in the real estate industry.
Throughout the course are in-text questions, to test your knowledge as you go. We’ll end the course with the state-required 40 question exam.
