This six-hour course covers a variety of required topics, allowing you to get six of the twelve credit hours for renewing your license. The course begins with an introduction, giving the course objectives, going over how the Kentucky Real Estate Commission is set up, and covering a few friendly reminders that a licensee should know. Immediately following this is a 10-question pre-test, that serves to quiz your knowledge before you continue the course.
Once you pass the pre-test, the course continues with licensing, E&O, and continuing education requirements. We go over these requirements in detail, including information on inactive licenses and how to reactivate them. Following this is advertising, which includes:
- Kentucky-specific requirements
- fraud issues
- technology issues
- how to utilize social media
- competitor relationships
- antitrust laws
- fair housing laws as they relate to real estate
The topic of principal broker duties comes after we review agency, licensee disclosure agreements, and contracts. Then we go over the state-specific requirements, a general description of the supervising duties, and the employer-employee relationship. We finish the course with the topic of:
- property management
- covering the Kentucky requirements for property management
- an overview of fair housing
- civil rights laws
- and Kentucky-specific information on fair housing and the complaint process
Throughout the course are in-text questions at the end of each section, to test your knowledge as you go. At the end of a course is a final exam that presents 30 questions.
